Wherever possible
Alternative to Cooling Towers:
Universal Refrigeration Adiabatic Coolers are designed as a safe and cost effective alternative to evaporative cooling towers, providing cooling water below the dry bulb ambient temperature and offering the following advantages:
• Indicated as a safe alternative to cooling towers in HSC L8 “The Control of Legionella in Water Systems”
• No chemical water treatment
• No clean and chlorination required
• Minimal plan area
• Low operating noise levels
• Dry cooling operation for the majority of the year
• Optional ultra violet light disinfection for mains water sprays
• Full control package - reducing installation costs

Adiabatic Operation and Reduced Costs
Coolers are selected to operate as conventional air blast / dry coolers at all temperatures up to the reduced dry bulb figure specified at selection stage. At temperatures above this figure the adiabatic cooling system will operate automatically (under the control of theUniversal Refrigeration adiabatic control package) pulsing the spray system as required by the increasing ambient. This control system minimizes water usage in any given operating conditions. The Universal Refrigeration approach to selection and control provides optimum balance between purchase and running costs to minimise the total cost of ownership.
