Free Cooling Air Cooled Package Water Chillers
Our JWA units are fitted with scroll compressors and shell and tube evaporators. The TWA range is fitted with either semi hermetic reciprocating or screw compressors. Larger TWA units, up to 1000 KW are available upon request. Units are also approved for listing on the Governments Energy Technology List (ETL), allowing clients to qualify for up front tax relief through the Enhanced Capital Allowance (ECA) scheme - please ask for details.

FREE COOLING
Free cooling uses the cold ambient air during Autumn, Winter and Spring to pre cool or completely cool the warm water returning from your process, either reducing the electrical power to run the refrigeration unit or eliminating the need for the refrigerant compressors totally. See above for details. Free cooling can be offered in two basic formats, by having a pre-cooler factory fitted into one of our packaged water chillers or by adding a bolt on free cooling unit to your existing system, whether it be air or water cooled.
HEAT RECLAIM
Refrigerant desuperheaters are fitted to the chiller’s refrigerant compressor lines. This achieves partial heat recovery, resulting in high grade hot water up to 55°C of approximately 20% of the chiller’s cooling capacity. For total heat recovery, the total cooling capacity and compressor input power are reclaimed as high grade hot water, again as high as 55°C.This hot water can then be used via a separate circuit for a different requirement or at another point within a manufacturing process. This can be used for pre- boiler heating, factory and office space heating or wash down water in pharmaceutical and food production areas. ENERGY TECHNOLOGY LIST
Universal Refrigeration continually has products approved for listing on the Government’s Energy Technology List (ETL.). Not only are these products officially recognised as being energy efficient but clients can qualify for up-front tax relief through the Enhanced Capital Allowance (ECA) Scheme. Products include packaged water chillers and adiabatic/air blast coolers. Businesses can claim 100% first year capital allowance against their taxable profits on any investment made, including installation costs. This gives a boost to cash flow and shortens payback period. For example. If your business spends £10.000 on products and you pay tax at 30%,. you could reduce your tax bill by £3,000 in the year of investment. This cost saving is in addition to any longer term gains from reduced energy bills and Climate Change levy payments.
